Our Story
Frankie’s Bakery owner, Kaitlyn, did not study pastry in the South of France. She did not apprentice alongside MasterChefs, take classes at Le Cordon Bleu, nor does she hail from Johnson & Wales. Her humble beginnings as a baker simply started in her own kitchen during the lockdown of 2020. With ample amounts of free time on her hands, (and lots of inspiration from The Great British Bake Off) she finally was able to explore her long time interest in baking.
Making it her mission to conquer the French macaron, a notorious baking behemoth, she and her sister Kimi troubleshot tirelessly for months to get the perfect textures, flavors, and filling ratios for the desserts they proudly serve today. What began as simply offering friends and family practice treats quickly snowballed into an outpouring of love and support from their community, both locally in Anacortes, and across state lines.
Their bearded dragon Frankie (the bakery’s namesake) became the logo simply due to her cute face, and they wanted something a little unique to set themselves apart. However, no lizards are involved in their baking processes!
And while Kaitlyn is technically self-taught, she credits a lot of her knowledge and success to recipe blogs, baking shows, and family traditions. Everything is made from scratch with the finest, freshest ingredients. She is always learning and improving, and the trio appreciate your continued support through this culinary exploration.
